To maximize our ability to reduce overdose deaths in Los Angeles, The Overdose Prevention Task Force shares critical resources with many social service organizations, including addiction treatment, mental health, health, housing, homeless services and other information.
Service providers have frequent contact with drug users and establish trust with a vast community of individuals at risk of overdose. Equipped with overdose information and training and other resources, they can directly reach a significant number of individuals at risk – many of whom, in turn, will prevent overdose among their peers.
The Task Force has developed an easy-to-follow curriculum which effectively informs service providers and others in overdose prevention strategies.
